Jared Taylor vs. Prof. Peter March in the Canadian Diversity Debate in 2007. The Censored Diversity Debate. Jared Taylor, editor of American Renaissance, and Peter March, professor of philosophy at Saint Mary’s University, square off n the debate the people of Halifax were not allowed to see.
Mr. Taylor originally agreed to debate the pros and cons of racial diversity with Prof. David Divine of Dalhousie University in Halifax in January, but Prof. Divine got cold feet. When Mr. Taylor attempted to deliver a speech on the costs of racial diversity in Canada later that month, leftist thugs attempted to silence him by banging pots and pans before physically ejecting him from the room.
Prof. March, no friend of race realism but a strong supporter of free speech, invited Mr. Taylor back to Halifax in March to debate the question on the campus of Saint Mary’s. Hours before the debate was to begin Saint Mary’s abruptly cancelled, citing dubious security concerns.
The University later allowed the debate to take place, under the following conditions: no audience, no press, and no advanced notice. Nevertheless, Mr. Taylor and Prof. March agreed. The polite, civilized, and lively debate finally took place which is on this recording. The earth did not come to an end.
